Gabrielle Henskens is the central link in project planning at CSi. As a Multi Project Planner, she’s involved with the planning, from the first sales quote to the final installation at the customer’s site. With over five years at CSi – including three in her current role – Gabrielle ensures each project gets off to the right start.
What is the most important skill you have developed at CSi?
“Collaboration, because I have to work with so many different people and departments. It was a challenge to figure out the best way to do that. You’re dealing with a lot of people and you want to make everyone happy. But I’ve also learned that it’s sometimes okay if not everyone is satisfied. You learn to stand more firmly in your shoes. Additionally, most people here are technical, and you do need to get used to the technical way of thinking. But in the end, the advantage is that things are very clear. It’s an enjoyable way to work with everyone.”
What makes this particular role at this company so enjoyable?
“The fact that you deal with so many different people is exactly what makes the role enjoyable. You discuss the same topic with different parties, but each conversation brings a different perspective. A conversation with Sales about a quote is very different from the weekly meetings with engineers or with our Romanian colleagues. You have a lot of contact with many different people, and I really enjoy that.
Everyone has their own technical view, and I rely on the technical knowledge of others. I can generally follow along, but you really do need the expertise of the people around you. That kind of collaboration is something I really enjoy – and it’s what makes this role so interesting.”
How does your work contribute to the larger company mission?
“We want to get our products out into the world. Through the collaboration around Multi Project Planning, we make sure we can deliver on our promises and commitments. We have a good sense of what we can and cannot promise, and that helps us keep our customers satisfied.
Thanks to the MPP overview, we know that different projects won’t interfere with one another, and we can manage expectations. It creates clarity and peace of mind – not just for the customer, but also for our colleagues. It leads to a better way of working, because we assess the possibilities in advance, manage expectations more effectively, and make sure everyone is on the same page.”
