Danny Pauwels is System Sales Engineer at CSi Netherlands. As a System Sales Engineer (SSE) you are involved in the entire technical and commercial sales process, from the first request to the moment an order is placed and started.
What is the most important skill you have developed at CSi?
“For me, it is very important to be a reliable conversation partner with sufficient knowledge and experience. Because CSi works internationally, I have to deal with many different cultures in my role as a SSE. I know my way around and can assess customers quite well. Together this makes me a valued conversation partner.”
What makes this particular role at this company so enjoyable?
“There is a fair amount of freedom in this role, I can shape my role to my preferences. The great variety is something that certainly motivates me and that I enjoy. For instance, working globally from Australia to the USA and everything in between. One moment you take a deep dive into technology (layout/capacity calculations) and the next moment you are busy with commercial matters (prices/conditions/conversations with the customer). It is a cliché, but no day is the same!”
How does your work contribute to the larger company mission?
“Directly seen, every order is a contribution to our success. Sometimes it doesn’t work out, but you still create an opening for future projects. In a broader perspective, I think about new commercial opportunities, (product) development and research into new markets (for example via trade fairs).”
